The Story of EMESSA

2010 – 2014
2010 – 2014

From Syria to Egypt: How we started

In 2010, Anis Trabulsi founded his first textile company with partners in Latakia, Syria, marking the beginning of our denim company’s journey. But soon, the Syrian conflict disrupted operations, forcing Anis to move the business to Egypt in 2011. Despite these tough times, he managed to get the company back up and restarted production in 2015.

The name ‘EMESSA’ has a special meaning too. It comes from the old name for Homs, which is Anis’ hometown and a well-known place for textile making for many centuries. This name is a tribute to the long history of textile production in the area and reflects the blend of tradition and modern innovation that EMESSA stands for today.

Evolving from local supplier to European partner

In 2015, EMESSA restarted its production in a new facility and established local partnerships to enhance its capabilities. Over the next three years, the company primarily supplied to valued local brands in Egypt and expanded its sales to the European market. Since 2018, EMESSA has been exporting ready-made garments to premium brands and retailers in Germany and Austria, showcasing the high-quality standards that EMESSA upholds.

Crafting the Future of EMESSA

EMESSA stands out as a recognized supplier of premium denim in Europe, serving the high-end market from our expansive 20,000 sqm facility. By the end of 2024, we will have the capacity to produce 2.5 million pairs of trousers. Our services encompass the entire production process including laundry, automatic cutting, finishing, printing, embroidery and sewing. Committed to sustainable practices, around 90% of our fabrics are sourced within Egypt, working with reliable local suppliers such as Sharabati and DNM Textile.

To extend our market reach, incorporate further innovative technologies and empower our team, we are expanding our operations with an additional factory next to our existing one.

Additionally, we invest heavily in the development of our employees and have established an in-company dual vocational training system. This initiative is designed to promote sustainable and job-creating growth within the Egyptian textile industry, while continuing to create employment opportunities for the local community.
