Embracing responsible manufacturing means looking at the whole picture. From tackling absolute transparency in our supply chain to enhancing our employee training programs, we understand it’s the sum of our choices, no matter how big or small, that drives real daily change. Our holistic approach is anchored in achieving tangible results and relying on solid facts to guide our progress.
10 things we are proud of:
10 things we are proud of:
80% of EMESSA’s value chain is based in North Africa.
90% of our fabric sourcing became local by 2022, a notable increase from 15% in 2019, after we changed our purchasing strategy to Egypt.
50% of our management positions are held by women.
1,8% second quality rate achieved in 2022, a decline from 3,7% in 2020.
1% delay ratio achieved in 2022, down from 11% in 2019.
90% of EMESSA’s waste (fabric, paper, plastic, paper, oil, waste oil, sludge and hazardous waste) is either reusable or recyclable.
Recurrent training for all employees from line workers to middle management to understand sustainability principles and international textile industry standards.
Through a flexible business model and a stable sourcing location, EMESSA enables its retail partners to execute on small-order, quick-turn strategies. We easily work with medium-size, higher end fashion brands in the EU that require frequent re-orders, so we can meet those needs.
By creating job opportunities in an agricultural region with high unemployment we are helping to support the local community and the development of the region.
Our collaboration with the German International University (GIU), specifically the Faculty of Conceptual Design & Sustainability in Cairo, enhances our exchange of ideas with students and promotes shared goals for a sustainable future. This partnership engages young minds in sustainability efforts and ensures that innovative and forward-thinking approaches remain central to our mission.

We have set ourselves the following goals and topics by 2030:
Carbon Footprint
We aim to reduce our total greenhouse gas emissions by 5%, aligning with the 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations and Egypt’s Vision 2030. By cutting factory emissions, we will minimize our carbon footprint and contribute significantly to global sustainability efforts.
Materials and Innovations
We invest in the development and research of forward-thinking materials and fabrics, exploring alternatives with a lower environmental impact. By using materials of the future, we aim to restrict chemical use and water waste, while increasing our recycling and upcycling initiatives in the future.
Circularity & Waste management
We are working toward a circular business model by increasing our recycling and upcycling initiatives. As part of this commitment, we are looking at the entire lifecycle of a product, rethinking our raw material management, phasing out non-recyclable packaging materials and adopting more sustainable manufacturing solutions.
Equality in Action
We are strongly committed to empowering women and further increasing the number of female leaders. Through our Responsible Inclusion model, we aim to develop the leadership potential of our female employees.
Strengthening our local Community
We believe in the power of collaboration to drive the economic and social growth in the region of Beni Suef. By creating jobs and fostering market opportunities, we contribute to the economic development of our local community and suppliers.
